After shaving, rinse each area thoroughly inside and out to remove any shaving soap or hair. Loosen the handle slightly to allow water to flow all around the blade. Let both the razor and blade dry before reloading, or better yet, keep your razor disassembled or unloaded. Avoid leaving a dirty or damp blade in your razor as this will cause oxidation of the blade.
A Safety Razor can last a very long time if you take good care of it. It does not mean that it can withstand drops, shocks and abuse.
Depending on the color you choose, you will have different long-term results. The matte finishes (rose gold, black, white) are the softer coatings and are more likely to show wear over time. The rose gold and black finishes are made by electroplating, which means the color is fused to the metal and cannot chip, unlike the white which requires more TLC. The rose gold shade is made of copper which naturally tends to patina over time. The chrome finish is harder and therefore generally more resilient. However, these are all questions of aesthetics and do not affect the operation of your shaver.
