Ingrediënt: Rosehip Oil

Ingredient: Rosehip Oil

Rosehip oil, a real powerhouse for your skin.

Rosehip oil or rosehip oil is derived from the rose bush, rosa canina, which is mainly grown in Chile.
Unlike rose oil, which is extracted from the petals of beautiful rose flowers, rosehip oil is pressed from the fruit and seeds of the rose plant.

Rosehip oil has been prized since ancient times for its valuable healing properties and is packed with skin-nourishing vitamins and essential fatty acids. It also contains phenols that have been shown to have antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal properties.

What does it all do now?

Hydrate & care

  • The essential fatty acids help keep cell walls strong so they don't lose water.
  • Linoleic acid has anti-inflammatory properties, protects against air pollution and clears up acne.
  • Alpha-linolenic acid is also an excellent anti-inflammatory and helps to smooth the skin.
  • Gamma-linolenic acid keeps the skin hydrated and anti-aging.
  • Omega 9 makes the skin soft and elastic and stimulates the renewal and repair of skin cells.
  • The many fatty acids make it an excellent option for moisturizing dry, itchy skin.

Rosehip oil is a dry or non-greasy oil. This makes it a great natural moisturizer for all skin types. The skin easily absorbs the oil, allowing the antioxidants to penetrate deep into the skin layers.

Exfoliate and clarify

Because rosehip oil is rich in vitamins A and C, you can naturally exfoliate the skin and help reduce dullness. Result: radiant, vibrant skin.
Vitamin A, or retinol, also stimulates skin cell turnover. while the vitamin C aids in cell regeneration and boosts overall radiance. Also prevents fine lines and wrinkles, brightens the skin and fights the free radicals that break down healthy cells.

Collagen formation

Collagen is a very important building block of the skin that is essential for the elasticity and firmness of the skin. It is a substance that your body naturally produces less as you get older, resulting in wrinkles, among other things.
Rosehip oil is rich in vitamins A and C, which you need for collagen production. Finally, it has also been shown to inhibit the production of MMP-1, an enzyme that breaks down collagen in the body.

Anti-inflammatory

Rosehip is rich in both polyphenols and anthocyanin, which help reduce inflammation. It also contains vitamin E, an antioxidant known for its anti-inflammatory and calming effects.
Perfect to use for rosacea, psoriasis, eczema and acne.

Protects against sun damage and hyperpigmentation

Long unprotected sun exposure plays an important role in premature aging. For example, UV exposure can interfere with the body's ability to produce collagen.
The antioxidant vitamins A, C and E in the rose hip oil work together to fight the visible damage from the sun.

Vitamin A contains retinoids known for their ability to reduce hyperpigmentation and other visible signs of aging when used regularly.
Therefore, rosehip oil can be used to reduce the negative effects of UV exposure. Keep in mind that this does not offer protection against the sun, so lubricating is still very important.

Reduce scars and fine lines

The essential fatty acids and antioxidants, which are essential for tissue and cell regeneration in the skin, have also been used for centuries for wound healing, as well as the reduction of scars and fine lines.

Usage:

The oil can be used on its own, or you can add a few drops to another carrier oil or your favorite moisturizer.

Store the oil in a cool, dark place to extend its shelf life. For this reason, they are also usually put in a dark glass.
